Mithila art is characterized by its colorful use of colors and delicate techniques. It was originally passed down from generation to generation by women living in Bihar, India. Painter Rambharos Jha grew up on the banks of the Ganges River and gradually became fascinated with life in the water. A variety of sea creatures appear in his works.
