Block printing is one of the most iconic handicrafts of India.
The craftsman applies ink to a palm-sized wooden block and creates it by pressing it one step at a time. The more colorful and intricate the pattern, the more layers of ink are required, resulting in a gentle texture that is unique to handmade products and cannot be produced by machine.
