Trees are an important motif for the Gond people of India. During the day when the sun shines, trees are busy providing shade for animals, feeding them with nuts, and serving as perches. It is believed that it unleashes its true power at night. Master Gond artists have painted stories that revolve around the trees during the night. All processes, from printing to bookbinding, are completed by hand using handmade paper made from recycled old cloth that would otherwise be discarded. In 2008, it received high praise internationally, including being awarded the Bologna International Children's Book Ministry.
